JOURNÉES OPEN FOOD FACTS.png

Our community days are back on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of October 2023 in Paris, France

Each year, we dedicate a weekend to the Open Food Facts community and it is a very special time.

Why ?

First of all, because Open Food Facts wouldn’t exist without its community members, in various corners of the world, who are contributing daily with food products data, but also their skills in coding, translation, communication, networking (to name just a couple) and their time.

Secondly, we get to meet each other in person, human to human, not through a screen.

Thirdly, this time together is for dreaming, generating ideas and solutions for how to make them become a reality and empower more people to make more informed food decisions for their health & that of our planet !

Last year, we were very thankful to the Académie du Climat / City of Paris, who let us use 3 of their spaces free of charge (one of which is particularly special as it used to be the Wedding Hall of the former Mairie/ town hall)!

This year, they are welcoming us once again! 💫 2 exciting days of fellowship & creativity around the Open Food Facts food revolution!

Lunches 🌮

This year, due to logistical reasons, each one will be responsible for their own lunch. There are plenty of restaurant options, or bakeries (boulangeries) nearby; we can eat either by the Seine, or in the courtyard of the Académie, or upstairs in our hall (if the weather is capricious).

Here some suggestions to grab a bite ☕:

La Boulangerie du Marais (Closest bakery)

Bagelstein

La Buvette de l’Académie du Climat (veggie meal of the day)

Le Trumilou (French cuisine, 20€ formula (starter+main))

Ginsburger Vegetarian Superstar

La Perla (Mexican, lunch offer for 10,90€)

L’As du Fallafel (most famous Libanaise of the Marais)

Chez Marianne (less famous, but also very good *it’s cheaper to take out than to eat in)

Impérial House (Asian)

Bayan (Asian, big portions, good lunch offers)

La Bocamexa (Mexican, vegetarian options)

Kaali Temple (Indian to take away, vegetarian options)

Kaviary Delicatessen (fish toasts & bites)

Pain Vin Fromage (French fondues & raclettes, more for dinner)

Le Peloton Café coffee shop

La Caféothèque coffee shop

Aux Merveilleux de Fred (dessert time, shout out to the little brioches ("cramiques"))

Bring a reusable water bottle if you have one, to save some paper cups :)
